I’ve been violated!

While I was out attending the wake of my mother’s friend’s husband, someone broke into my home tonight and stole my laptop, business checks, a digital printer, 1 digital camera and my gun. I keep my other digital cameras in my safe, so they are still in my possession.

Earlier this evening, I was in my front lawn, picking up pinecones and there was a guy who was walking down the street. He stared at me and I stared back, but he kept walking. And by the time I cleaned up and left to attend the wake, he walked back down the street again.

I had a bad vibe about the guy, but I knew that I had to attend this wake, so I went on anyway. While at the wake, my ADT alarm went off and I was called to let me know that the alarm was indeed sounding. I figured maybe the dogs had triggered the alarm. But when I entered my home, all of my lights were on and I knew immediately that someone had broken into my home.

The person or persons had entered through the master bathroom window. And apparently, when I arrived home, they were just leaving, because they didn’t take any jewelry or other valuable electronic items like televisions, dvd players, etc. My arrival must have scared them off.

I’m glad that I was not harmed, but I feel like I have been raped in a sense because my drawers of my dresser were open and so were my closet doors. It fuckin’ hurts to work hard for everything that you own and people who don’t want to work come in and steal from you.

But I tell you this, if I see this guy again casing houses on my street, as mad as I am at this very instant, I may shoot him on the spot.

Sorry to learn about your loss. Though, it’s after the fact, and probably meaningless to you now, I will offer a suggestion. Perhaps, you might consider wireless video surveillance. Check out X10. Inexpensive and easy to setup. It’s likely that your violators will come back to the neigborhood.

I know. Someone violates you to the point that you barely feel safe in your own home. “Dayum the cam! You took my piece? Shooot! Betta use it on yourself before I do it!” Camera? Checks? Laptop? Quick money, and unless they just didn’t have time to hit all the spots, makes you wonder if it was random or personal. I hope you remembers dude’s face all the way down to the bad teeth and blackheads.

That’s some BS. I’m so sorry gurl.

Nikki, that is an awful tough break luv. Sorry to hear that happened to you my sister…

We all know material things are replacable. So I am happy nothing happened to you.
I hope you had insurance and everything can be replaced easily.
ADT didn’t send the cops out quick enough???
Holla!

DAMN! :( I’m sorry Nikki. :( That jerk! He’ll get his.

Oh damn girl!!! I’m sending cyber hugs!!! First the bank incident, now this. It’s dangerous down there. Maybe you need to move up north (smile).

I know how you feel, I got GOT about 7 years ago while living in NY. After the police dusted for finger prints and the dust was everywhere I just sat on the edge of my bed in shock. It happened between 3 and 6pm and I thank God my daughter wasn’t home, she normally was home from school at that time but she wanted to spend the afternoon at my Grandmother’s house.

Crime is so out of control these days. You had to endure the bank heist, and now this. I feel for you. But I wonder at the same time what we as a community can do to make things safer.

man, what an October for you!

((hugs))

I am sorry that you had to go through that. Its a shame that people can’t put in some work to get things for themselves. Thank God that you weren’t there though.

I’m sorry about this. You’re right: how dare someone believe that he/she can break in and take whatever! I’m glad that you weren’t home and that you weren’t hurt.

Dang Nikki. I’m sorry that happened to you. I would feel totally violated too if that happened to me too. Take care!

I’m about to chalk it up to you having a terrible month. First the bank robbery, now this. I’m just glad you’re safe. Everything he took was replaceable, but we can’t get another NikNak PaddyWhack. ;-)

oh man! very sorry to hear that.it’ll probably take you a while to feel safe again. just be thankful you didnt cross paths with him

Wooooow! Sorry to hear about this. How awful!

Aww!! I’m SO sorry this happened to you!! I’m glad you didn’t walk in and surprise them enough that something bad happened to you physically!

They will get what’s coming… Karma is a b!@tch!!

My God thank goodness you are alright. It galls me how a robber can look you in the face and rob you anyway. I have been robbed by gunpoint.

I hope and pray for your safety cause the violation of privacy is worse than losing any material things.

Take it easy and pray.

Most importantly, I am so glad to know that you are safe! I know how it feels to be violated in that way, and it really sucks. I’m very sorry that you had to be victim of such ignorance and cruelty. As for him, karma is a bitch!

Thank God you weren’t at home when it happened. I can’t believe he was casing your shit before hand.

maybe frank melton can come and whoop his ass for you! i hate to hear this. the thought of other people going through my things always freaks me out. i’m glad to hear you’re ok.

Jo

so sorry to hear about this. i know how you feel & it’s a horrible feeling.

you, on the other hand are ok and that’s what’s important.

Nikki, I am so sorry that this happened. Keep your head up. Keep the faith and hang in there. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Aww shit Nikki! I’m so sorry this has happened to you. I despise lazy muthafuckas who want to steal from hardworking folks. I’m sending some good karma your way. Take care and I hope they catch the bastard.

damn. sorry to hear that. My wife leaves the upstairs window open way too much when she leaves the house so i KNOW i’m gonna come home one day and our cache of electronics is gonna be gone.

so how was ADT supposed to help? I don’t understand. Aren’t the police supposed to show up?

Damn sorry to hear. What I’m really mad about is they got your gun–get another one so if they return…
