Speed Racer

So I hear the Wachowski Brothers, the same men who brought you the Matrix trilogies, are planning to bring Speed Racer, based on the cartoon of the same name, to the big screen as a live action film. I also heard that the Warner Brothers film company first brought Hype Williams in to direct the film, but Hype backed out of the project in 2001. So now the Wachowski Brothers are slated to write and direct the film, which is set for release in 2008.

It should be interesting to see where they will take this film, but I have a few questions:

  • I always thought that Speed was gay. Not trying to offend anyone, but it’s just what I personally think. ‘Cause check it out, Speed wears these tight ass polyester pants with white go-go boots with a kerchief around his neck. Not saying that’s gay attire, but all he needs is an eyepatch and he’d be a flaming pirate. Plus Trixie is supposed to be his girlfriend, right? How come he ain’t never kicked the rhythm to her not one time? Trixie is literally a ride or die chick. She is riding with yo ass hither and yon, day in and day out, but you never once tried to bone. Not even so much as a kiss. This is your girlfriend and you treat her like she’s a next-door-neighbor.
  • Then there’s Speed’s older brother, Rex Racer, who is also known as Racer X. Is he in the Nation of Islam? He loves to wear a wear a black mask and he’s changed his last name to X.
  • Finally, there’s Speed’s younger brother, Spritle, and his pet champanzee, Chim-Chim. I didn’t wanna have to be the one to tell you this, but………………those two have got to be bonin’! They can’t keep their hands off of each other. Just rollin’ around on top of each other every chance they get. I guess somebody in the family had to get laid. Mark my word, there’s some bestiality going on.

Hereos - Episode 17 - Company Man

Tonight’s episode was probably the most shocking episode this season. And the previews for next week bring Simone back, so it looks like Peter was able to bring her back to life. But, onto the recaps:

Flashback to 15 years ago: Mr. Bennet (HRG) becomes the manager of Primatech as a cover for an organization. Nobody except him and the man named Thompson, who promoted him, knew what the company was actually for. He is partnered with Claude when he’s promoted, which explains why he knows Bennet so well.

Back to present: Matt and Ted break into the Bennet’s home. The Bennet’s arrive home from the hosptial with Mrs. Bennet. Matt and Ted hold the family hostage. Ted wants answers from Mr. Bennet as to why they have these powers. Ted and Matt disagree about how to get the information from Mr. Bennet. Bennet tries to distract Ted by telling him there was information in the safe in another room, and Bennet reaches for a gun hidden in the kitchen. Ted returns to the kitchen in time to see Bennet with gun in hand. They tussle over the gun. Matt uses his powers to get into Claire’s head.

Flashback: Hiro as a child and Claire as a baby meeting with Hiro’s father. Hiro’s father demands that Mr. Bennet take Claire and warns him not to get too close, because she belongs to him, and if she manifests powers he will come and take her.

Back to present: Bennet tells Matt to shoot Claire, which he does, to resolve the situation when Ted takes Mr. Bennett’s gun and threatens, as well as almost kills, Mrs. Bennet. Matt reads both Mr. Bennet’s and Claire’s minds and they both tell him to shoot her, which made his decision easier.

Mr. Bennet and Matt take Claire’s body to her room minutes before she healed. The people Mr. Bennet work for would have taken her from him once she developed her powers, Matt verified the truth of the situation. Mr. Bennett and Parkman work together to get Ted out of there. Unfortunately, it backfires since Ted decides to stay with the family.

Flashback to 14 years ago: Mr. Bennet, worried for his wife’s safety, asks his boss if there was a way to make her forget which brings on the introduction of the Haitian. The boy, is believed to be mute. When asked to describe himself, the boy draws a picture of himself removing memories from someone’s mind.

Back to present: Instead of getting evidence for Ted, they grab tranquilizer darts. While sitting with the Bennet family, Ted discharges nuclear energy regularly to scare the Bennet family (minus Claire obviously) to keep everyone still and not to try anymore crap.

The Haitian is confronted by Mr. Bennet who now knows he can talk. The Haitian is working for someone else other then Mr. Bennet, someone who is more responsible for Claire.

Tooth Jacked

Today, my mother’s brother, Howard, was laid to rest. But believe it or not, it wasn’t a sad ocassion. The minister who delivered the eulogy was my uncle’s godson, and he filled us with food for meditation with his sermon. It was one of the best homegoing ceremonies that I’ve ever attended.

After the funeral, we headed over to my Aunt Lynn’s house for the repast. Everyone told wonderful stories of my uncle, we dined on some great Southern cuisine, and the kids kept us entertained with their games, as well as singing and dancing with us big kids.

Anyway, you guys know I’m always armed with a camera or two, so I was snapping pictures left and right. But something caught my eye when one of the kids stopped to pose for me. I discovered that my little cousin Jonathan got tooth jacked!

I asked him, “Jon Jon, what happened?” He said, “The tooth fairy snuck up behind me when I wasn’t looking.” And here’s what I saw when he flashed his smile.

What the duck?

I live near a lake, and every morning, a family of ducks fly over my house. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, for over a year to capture photos of them in flight, because their flight maneuvers are so beautiful to see. But for the life of me I can never seem to:

A. Catch them while I’m outside with my camera.

or

B. They never fly over my house at the same time on a daily basis.

This is really frustrating to me as a photographer. I pride myself on being able to land great captures, but these ducks are eluding me. This must be how Elmer Fudd feels.

What a welcomed surprise to see Stan Lee in this week’s episode of Heroes. Now, onto last night’s recap:

Claire calls her Dad (HRG) to tell him that her Mom (Mrs. Bennet) cannot remember who she or who Mr. Muggles is. She takes her brother (Lyle) to her mom and asks her if she know who he is. Mrs. Bennet remembers him and Claire (her memory is back). Lyle says to Claire, “Good thing dad’s not home, ’cause he would so drug test you.”

Cut to Isaac’s place: Isaac phones HRG. HRG and the Hatian go to Isaac’s place. Isaac tells HRG and the Haitian about the paintings and Peter. They plan to stop Peter. At the end of the scene, before he leaves, HRG gives Isaac a gun. Isaac says, “What do you expect me to do with this?” HRG replies, “Save the world.”

Cut to Matt at home: Matt has the diamonds and ring. They are hidden in his sock drawer. Janice finds a diamond ring in the drawer and thinks that Matt bought it for her. She says that they don’t have the money for that kind of thing, but Matt tells her that he got it for a good price, wholesale. Janice tries on the ring, but it doesn’t fit. Janice tells him that Mohinder called Matt to talk about his DNA.

Cut to Mohinder and Sylar: Mohinder and Sylar go to Gayle Smithers’ garage. She is another person with abilities. She has enhanced hearing and can control it. Mohinder talks to her about his research, but she’s skeptical, so Sylar shows her his abilities to melt metal. Mohinder asks if he could test her. Feeling uneasy about Sylar, who is assuming Zane’s identity, she asks if they could come back tomorrow instead. Mohinder agrees.

Cut to Hiro: Hiro is still trying to get out of the storage room by running into the door to try to knock it down. Hiro thinks Ando is at the door to save him, but it’s that the gaming patrolman that Hope wanted Ando to get ‘her bag from. The gaming patrol roughs Hiro up a bit and asks him where Hope is and about the bag. The patrol goes after Hope (and Ando). Hiro asks him, “Take me with you. I must save Ando.” The patrolman tells Hiro that he likes to work alone, but Hiro insists that he go with him and says, “You take me with you or she gets away, pal.”

On the roof: Claude is beating Peter with a stick trying to make him use one of his powers. Peter uses his telekinetic power, stopping Claude he attempts to hit Peter again with the stick. Peter snaps the stick in half.

Isaac and Simone at his place: Isaac says, “I think Peter has left New York.” Simone thinks he’s lying about Peter, because he’s jealous and wants to give Isaac back the key to his apartment, but Isaac says “No, keep it. I would do anything for you.” Simone replies, “Find Peter.”
