Samsung YP-T9
I’d been wanting a portable mp3 player for a while now and even requested one for Christmas from my brother, but I guess he didn’t catch on to the hint and he got me a watch instead. Didn’t want to buckle down and pay for an iPod like most of my friends. Was never really a fan of Apple products.
So I copped another brand instead. I read various reviews on several brands of mp3 players as well as tested some in-store, and I finally decided on one that I liked, which retails for around $150. But Nikki is a bargain shopper, so I hit up Ebay got a brand new 4GB Samsung YP-T9 still in the box!
Dare I say I’m diggin’ the hell outta this little jewel? And I’m shocked by the quality of the stereo playback from the earphones. Sounds like the artists are right in the room with me, that’s how good the earphones are.
So if you’re in the market for an alternative to the iPod, you might wanna check out the Samsung YP-T9. It also comes in a 2GB model as well.

Hmm… a sound recorder huh? Can a podcast be in our future??? (big cheezie grin) Before I got my Ipod, I was given the Archos. That puppy is fantastic, except the battery life sucks dick and there’s no way to set it up in my car for travel and to play. I didn’t want to get an Ipod either, but it was a fantastic gift and there just didn’t seem to be an equivalent out there. Enjoy your unit luv. Sounds like u are already! Heroes in 3 days Miss Nikki!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve heard good things about the Samsungs. I’ve got a iPod and its ok but I dislike alot about the whole connection with Itunes. itunes just doesnt give you much freedom to do anything other than basics

Sorry I am a random visitor to your blog and I saw this and umm yeah I actually own that device. If your thinking about buying a Nano I would most definitely recommend this rather than the Nano, because it has a lot more features such as the built in radio, VIDEO player (that alone makes the Nano look like crap) and the voice recorder. I have owned an Ipod in the past and I will say that itunes is a better software than the program that comes with this device (itunes updates the files everytime you attach your ipod to your computer and this device doesn’t among other things) and also you won’t have as many options on the actual device (such as creating playlist ) but overall the YP-T9 is a Nano killer.
Also the processor goes a little slow on the Samsung it takes like 15 seconds to turn on and off and it takes time to scroll through songs but that’s not all that bad. And although it advertises that you will be able to download games onto it, they don’t have that available yet so you’re stuck with the two games it comes with. Don’t let all of that deter you though it’s all pretty minor problems.
Oh some more advice, if you plan to have a lot of music, like over 4 gigs I would still say buy the video Ipod because nothing will top that, but if you won’t have more than say like 1,000 songs on your device go with the Samsung you’ll enjoy it.

I’m very proud of you. Resisting the urge to become an Apple zombie is remarkable.
Now you can boast that you have DRM free music, which you can easily share with your friends. Additionally, your device can play the uber cool, vastly superior quality, and royalty free ogg audio format.

i love my ipod. and i’ve found ways to get around the musis issues. when i was using strictly my pc, i used media monkey. it worked with my ipod.
i plan on buying a larger ipod too…my 30gb is nearly full

Aquababie, it ain’t that crucial for me to purchase an mp3 player over 4GB. They’re nice, but not really what I would need.
