On a Huffy for Christ

The Mormons are gangsta! I have seen them ride their little Huffy bicycles in the toughest of ‘hoods and no one bothers them. Just going door to door with their Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints paraphernalia in hand trying to spread the Word.

Their bicycles are never stolen, and if they are, I’ve never heard of an incident of it happening, not even in the news. And they are bold too. Even in my middle class neighborhood, on Christmas Day of last year, some Mormons rang my doorbell to pass out literature, then sped off on their Huffys.

On Christmas friggin’ Day! Who does that? Talk about being a radical for Christ. They are some ride or die folks for real.

You are so right about this. I lived in Norwood, and I always used to tell them to keep the armor of God upon them, but I was not interested in hearing what they had to say. But I did fear for their safety rolling down Bailey Ave on some Huffys.

Diva, I love the way that guy set them straight. I guess they saw a brotha wearing a doo-rag and thought they were gonna out Bible him. Looks can be deceiving.

Man those Mormons are gangsta with the Word. When I lived in NY there were these two girls that would stomp up and down the street with their back packs and name tags. The little one was so aggressive that she would actually try to grab you to talk to you. Not long ago here in Norfolk, VA a couple of Mormons were shot while trying to minister in the hood and one died.

LOL. I have a co-worker who is Mormon, and he tells stories quite often of incidents where he and others have fallen off of their bikes. The way he tells stories make it soooo hilarious. I actually asked him a couple of years ago had he, or any other fellow Mormons ever had a bike stolen, and he said, “not-a-one”.

I’ve never had any personal experiences with Mormons but based on what I’ve seen, they strike me as being a wee bit creepy. Oy Vey!

Yeah… they are gangsta… one just chased me up the street on 145th in Harlem the other day… lol I was walking fast to catch a train, do you know he walked just as fast and was preaching while we walked? lol

I can’t knock them… I was raised a Jehovah’s witness, and I had to go knocking on doors and all that when I was little. It wasn’t so bad. I am a great public speaker to this day because of being bold like that.

It only sucked when I did it in my own neighborhood, and my friends opened the doors… uggggh! I HATED THAT! Cause then that Monday, I knew I was going to be clowned all day about Watchtowers, Awake magazines, the bible, Jesus… anything you can think of…

I am not a witness, now, but I can empathize with their hustle… it is kinda gangsta.

Despite what I know about their religion, Mormons are my favorite religious folk. They are the only cats who always speak to me.

They’re international too. I’ve seen them riding on metro in Paris, on the streets in Yerevan and in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Around the world Mormons.

LMAO! I work with a shit load of Mormons and my co-workers and I had a good laugh off of this one!!!
