Board games are good, especially if they share a room with someone else. Tea and coffee sample are good too. A small afghan (low blood, they seem to stay cold). Picture frames, memory books and photo albums.

I remember the last year of my grandmother’s life, she use to sit on the sofa reminiscing and thumbing thru her albums.

Dang Nik. Now I miss my Granny.

Right before my Grandmother passed last year she lived in an assisted living facility. Some of the things she’d ask us to bring her were, crackers, cookies, smell good (lotions, perfume) and she loved to get her nails polished. Other items I can think of are, needle point or some sort of hobby type project. If it’s in your budget maybe a small cd player/ radio (30 bucks). My grandmother would sit in her room and listen to music all day, you can throw in a couple of cds. I realized that items that help pass the day are always appreciated.

I believe Godiva carries sugar free chocolates. You could also add those and a new Wii! lol! j/k about the Wii although I’ve read articles about nursing homes buying the systems to get their residents up and about.
