You know, I might actually take a chance to go and see this film when it’s released.  There hasn’t been a good spoof of a Blaxploitation film since I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.  And besides, the cast of Black Dynamite have starred in more flops than a mofo!  That in itself is funny to me.  Also, any film that Bokeem Woodbine is in has got to be unintentionally hilarious.

Synopsis: This is the story of 1970s African-American action legend Black Dynamite. The Man killed his brother, pumped heroin into local orphanages, and flooded the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor. Black Dynamite was the one hero willing to fight The Man all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

Let me set this scenario up for you. My brother is the only Black architect at his firm. And usually when he attends any company related functions, he’s either the only or one of a handful of African Americans that show up at said events.

Having said that, one of his co-worker’s father (Mr. Smith) passed away last week and my brother attended the funeral. He was the only African American attendee at the funeral. So after the funeral, people were walking up to my brother and asking him who he was.

He’d introduced himself as the co-worker of Mr. Smith’s son.  So after fielding questions about his identity to several people, my brother became a bit agitated, and the next person who approached him and asked him who he was, he answered, “Didn’t they tell you?  I’m Mr. Smith’s outside child.”  Then he walked away.

I wish I could have seen the look on that person’s face.  I know it was priceless.

So who’s gonna take over the mask, cape, bat cave and cool ass car?  You know this isn’t the first time Bruce Wayne has had to let someone take over his alter ego.  Back during the Knightfall storyline, Bruce was troubled with a broken back and he recruited Jean-Paul Valley to sub for him.

Unsung is a 4-part docu-series narrated by Al B. Sure.  I liken it to somewhat of a Behind The Music of African American singers and musicians.  The sneak peak premiered the story of the DeBarge family, showing their rise to fame amidst their struggles with drug addiction and various forms of abuse.

And on last night, the Phyllis Hyman story was revealed on UnSung.  There are least 2 more stories scheduled to air: The Clark Sisters and Donny Hathaway.  The Clark Sisters story airs tonight at 9pm CT/10pm ET, and the Donny Hathaway story will air on Tuesday night, 9pm CT/10pm ET.

Check your local listings for dates of re-airings.

Bailey has started bonin’ the hell outta his doggy bed.  I don’t know what happened from the groomers to the house, but he’s all of a sudden in love with the doggy bed.

I mean he is really givin’ the business to this bed as he drags it around the room.  Is there something I can do to stop this?  God forbid he does this on Thanksgiving in front of my family and/or friends.

Legendary South African singer, Miriam Makeba, died of a heart attack on yesterday after collapsing on stage during a performance in Italy.  Miriam once stated, “I will sing until the last day of my life.”  She passed away doing what she loved to do.

Can you feel it?  We are on the cusp of electing the first Black President.  Tears literally came to my eyes as I was casting my vote this morning.  Don’t delay, get to the polls and vote today!

Want another reason to look forward to Election Day?  Alright, I’ll give you one.  After you cast your vote for Barack Obama for President, head over to the nearest bookstore to pick up a copy of Midnight: A Gangster Love Story.

This is the long-awaited followup to Sister Souljah’s book, The Coldest Winter Ever.  Midnight: A Gangster Love Story tackles the early life of the character, Midnight, who was introduced to readers in The Coldest Winter Ever.

My late grandmother Ellen used to say, “Sometimes you can get too big for your own britches.”  Looks like actor Terrence Howard took that to heart.  Allegedly Howard was asking for more money to reprise his role of Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes in the Iron Man sequel, so he promptly got the boot.

Howard claims that his contract to appear in the sequel just “up and vanished”.  Riiiiiiiiiiiight.  I bet he threw one helluva hissy fit!

So who did the director get to replace Terrence Howard?  None other than Don Cheadle.  Iron Man 2 is set for release on May 7, 2010.

Since when did you become my friend?  I really wish that you would stop referring to me and the rest of America as “my friends”.  You don’t know us.  We ain’t never kicked it together.

You think you can just throw around the term “my friends” all willy nilly and you have never even picked up the tab at a bar for me and my crew, attended one of my Christmas parties, or high-fived me at a sporting event?  My bad dawg, I forgot you can’t raise your arms any further than your waist.

But the point is, you don’t know America.  You are so far out of touch in even trying to get to know the middle class, which are the ones who are struggling to make it day to day in the midst of this economic crisis.  So stop saying “my friends” if you can’t truly be my friend.

Why, you may ask?  Because it is against the law and it is considered campaigning, which is only supposed to be done within 100 feet of the polling facilities.  You will be promptly turned away and all the Repubs need is for you to not vote because you wore your Obama t-shirt, hats and/or pins to the polls.

And if you still want to be hard headed and wear your shirt on election day, put another shirt over that shirt while you’re in the parcking lot before you walk into the polling facility.  We need your votes to count.  Don’t get turned away over some foolishness.
