Walk-In Bathtub

Have you seen the walk-in bathtubs that are advertised on television for the elderly and handicapped? I want one of those for myself! Heck, all you do is walk in, sit down on enclosed seat, and fill up with water. I hate struggling to get out of the tub, having to rise up from a seated position from the floor of a bathtub with nothing but the side of the tub to hold onto (trying to grip with wet hands), only to have one or both hands slide forward and you lose your footing while trying to stand.

I want to bathe in comfort as well. I want to be able to rise from the tub and walk out without problem. The way I see it, you don’t have to be elderly or handicapped to need one of these tubs. I have problems with my knees (old track injuries) and sometimes I may get some slight weakness in one or both. This tub solves that problem for me.

Too bad I don’t have AARP, Medicare or Social Security to get a discount, because these tubs range in prices of $3000 - $7000. Wow! I could buy a used car for the price of one of those tubs.

For that kind of money, I’d be in the tub all freakin’ day!

That really does seem like a good investment, but also something that you’d rather get in your youth. We all know that medical insurance for our elderly is a joke.

I’m a shower guy myself, but that tub looks hella cool.

WHOAAAA!!!! It’s calling my name miss Nikki..

uhm I love the tub…but you have to wait until the water goes out to exit? You gonna need to shower afterwards LOL

girl i sure would love to have one of these, but dang for $3000 that’s a lot to take a piss or shyt lol

Wow I didn’t realize how expensive those tubs are.

umm… for 7000, I could have a jacuzzi bathtub and a rain shower head set ups… the kind where the shower area is just open and you can get the entire bathroom wet. I am gonna have me a bathroom like that one day…

This bathtub thing would take too long… sitting there waiting for the water to fill… waiting for it to drain to get out… with a jacuzzi, I can step on the seat and get out, AND have bubbles massaging me all over… lol

It is true that the walk in bathtubs are costly and when one is on a fixed income it makes it diffuclt. There is a solution to climbing over the bathtub wall, other than cutting out a space in the bathtub that then makes the tub into a shower and you no longer can take a bath. There is now a Door Insert Kit on the market, that will convert your existing bathtub into a walk in bathtub so that you can still use the bathtub as a bathtub and you no longer have to worry about climbing over the wall.

For those who can afford it however, the walk in bathtub is still a great thing. As far as staying warm, a heat lamp can be installed over the bathub. If that is what it takes to have a bath and have that feeling of being clean as well as relaxed…then so be it.

It would be nice if governments would realize that products like the walk in bathtub are keeping seniors at home much longer rather than having them depend on care in a nursing home or assisted living facility!!
