Abreast of the Situation

Do you recall on last year when I spoke about the possibility of having breast reduction surgery? Well, on Monday of this week, I had the procedure done. It was outpatient surgery which probably lasted about 4 hours from the point of surgery to the recovery room.

I remember some of the men were asking me, “Why would you want to have that done?” And I specifically remember Jdid yelling, “Nooooooooooo!” But, I knew that this was something that I had to do in order for my body to feel good. The strain on my back of carrying around 40DD’s on a 5′8 130lb frame was too much to bear.

So now I’m in a recovery transition. The first day wasn’t bad. I expected pain, but it was nothing that I couldn’t handle. But on that second day, “OOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH!” I felt pain all over my body. I couldn’t even lift a finger. I was crying like I was a newborn. And the worst pain was felt when I tried to walk through my home and my elbow barely tapped the inside frame of my bedroom door.

Have you ever seen a tuning fork vibrate? Well, my elbow was the tuning fork that vibrated my entire body. Just one big ball of pain from head to toe. But I must say that the drugs that were prescribed, Meprozine in particular, was quite lovely! When it kicks it, I don’t feel a thing. I also don’t remember a thing, which is not fun because friends have called to talk to me and I don’t remember a word of the conversation.

Today, I’m feeling pretty good. My bandages are off, I’m walking faster, and my strength is returning. The only medication I’m taking is antibiotics to prevent infection. I’m thinking clearer and I’m almost back to my old self.

Before the surgery, my doctor asked me what size I’d like to be and I told him a 34C. I am soooooo happy with this size. My back pain is literally gone. It’s strange putting on a blouse without my breasts engulfing 90% of the blouse. I feel great!

Now, I wouldn’t recommend this surgery for every woman. Trust me, I consulted with several physicians before I even thought about having a breast reduction. This was something that I had to do and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Downside…men who don’t even know you are bummed out.

Upside….you won’t be hunch backed when you’re old.

40DD on a 130lb frame? 40double DAAAAAAYUM! lol wow… I am sure there is a slight subconscious shockwave that goes through the collective heterosexual male psyche every time a breast reduction occurs… lol

Ugly girls may need to keep every bit of breast, but a cutey like you will keep all the boys coming to your yard even with smaller breast cause you got it like that. Besides, 34C is still plenty.

So now you are like what 120 lbs? lol

PSun, I got on the scale yesterday and it looks like I lost about 6 or 7 lbs. That was a lot to carry around.

lol… 6 or 7 pounds… just from your boobies, and you STILL got 34 C’s left? yeah… you needed that shyt mama.

One of my exes in college had one done a few years back and literally, she looked like she lost 20-30 pounds. The crazy thing was that she was never overweight. She was actually really petite aside from the breasts, which it sounds like you were too. Watch the reactions you get… some people wont even realize it was just your breast that are smaller, they will just assume you lost weight.

Anyway, hope the healing process speeds up for you and you get well soon.

Right, I was never overweight either. I’ve been kinda slim all of my life, but the weight from my breasts was killing my back. I feel like a new person.

once again. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! as Jdid makes a desperate lunge for the surgeon’s scalpel all too late. sigh!

in all seriousness though, it was a health issue and I’m glad you did what you needed to do. Health comes first and a bad back is no joke. Hope your recovery goes well.

I still cant help but cry though. 40 DD?? damn damn damn!

I love how the men here are so intrigued. LOL
I got 38DD and for the longest I have considered surgery but it really would be for vanity reasons cause my back doesn’t hurt. And when I think of the pain…….
Congratulations!!!

Congrats, girl. As a well-endowed sista myself, I’m looking forward to getting nipped and tucked in the chesticles as well once I get to my goal weight. These G’s got to go!

Glad everything worked out and you’re in good spirits. I know of a lot of people I work with who’ve had that as well but always felt like they were “tough” by continuing to deal with it, and some of them can’t even stand straight at all after years passed.

See? I was all set to do it myself, until you started holl’in. Now I’mma hafta pray on it some more. I know that once you’re physically feeling better overall, you’ll be all up in Victoria Secrets getting the cutie cute bras…or Wallyworld. They’re not half bad yanno.

You like it, I love it Nikster.

Congrats Nikki! I’m happy to hear that you are feeling better and I hope your recovery is a speedy one. I have pretty full breast myself but not as full as what you describe. Mine don’t cause me any pain, but they do make purchasing shirts and blouses (particularly button downs) difficult.

This blog world is funny, because having missed the posts last year, I never imagined from you profile pics that you were carrying that much breast tissue around. Your pics give the sensation that you are one of those scrawny “salad girls” who I find I just want to offer extra food ;-)

Glad you did what you had to do and you’re happy about it.

have a good recovery, nikki!
