October 5, 1957 – August 9, 2008

Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr.
August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008

There must be plenty of laughing and singing going on in heaven this weekend. We lost two greats within a day of each other. Comedian/actor Bernie Mac died on Saturday, August 9, 2008, from complications due to pneumonia.

And legendary singer/musician/songwriter/arranger/producer Isaac Hayes passed on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Isaac was found lying unconscious next to his treadmill, which was still running. He suffered a simultaneous heart attack and stroke.

    I was just telling a friend last week that I’ve got this on going illustration, now going on 5 panels long of noteworthy greats who have passed on. IE; Biggie, Pac, Left Eye, Malcolm X, Aaliyah and so forth.

    And of course, I’m always adding others on. Looks like I’ll have to add my boy Bernie and the great Isaac Hayes. I understand that death will always be a part of life, but man, this was a shocking 48 hour period!
