Remember my Cocker Spaniel puppy, Bailey, that I got for Christmas? Well, Bailey is 5 months old today. He’s one active puppy, and it’s hard to get good pics of him when he’s in high gear. But when I give him a bath, he instantly goes into chill mode. So I snapped this capture of him tonight post-bath.

Oh, and I’m going to get his tail docked next week. I should have done it when he was a few weeks old, but I had too many irons in the fire at the time. I know he’s not looking forward to that.

On last week when I gave Bailey his first bath, he enjoyed it.  But because he got caught out in the rain on yesterday and got a little dirty, I decided that he needed another bath.  So I filled his bath bin this morning with warm water, lathered him up with his doggie shampoo…………and he acted as if I was killing him.

Again, last week he loved bathing, but this week he hates it.  And as I toweled him off, he gave me a look like, “Don’t think one minute that I’m gonna forget about this, heffa!”

Today my new puppy, Bailey, is 8 weeks old. He’s learned so much since I got him. He does his business on the newspaper like he’s supposed to. And he’ll even walk over to the door and scratch it to inform me if he wants to go outside to do the deed instead.

But for as much as he’s learned, he’s still a baby. He loves to take a nap in my lap. And for the most part, I don’t have a problem with that. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why he likes to burrow his head in my crotch.

And it’s not just Bailey. My brother’s grown Chow Chow is the same way. Whenever I go to my brother’s house to do our sibling bonding and his dog is indoors, TJ (the Chow Chow) will walk over to me while I’m sitting on the couch, and place his big ol’ head into my crotch. What’s that all about?

My family grew a little larger over the holidays. Last Friday night, I welcomed a 6 week old Cocker Spaniel puppy into my home and named him Bailey. And already, I can see that he’s going to be a smart little guy.

I’d purchased a new doggie bed for him from Petsmart, and before I could get his living area set up, he walked over to the bed and climbed in all by himself and has been doing so ever since. Every time he gets sleepy, he walks over to the bed, climbs in and nods off to sleep.

Now if we can get past the potty training stage. Ugh, I’d forgotten how tiresome it was to clean up after newborn pups.

Earlier tonight, I tried to get into my car to leave my house to go and get a bite to eat, but something startled me. There is a bird in my garage. How he got in, I have no idea. And to make matters worse, he’s found a little nesting spot in a roll-up shade that hangs in my garage, which is located in the top of the garage on the side where I have to get into my car. If he doesn’t mess with me, I won’t mess with him.
