Maze ft. Frankie Beverly

Nov 23

On this past Friday night, I attended the Maze ft. Frankie Beverly concert at the Lee E. Williams Athletic & Assembly Center on the campus of Jackson State University.  R&B singer, Terisa Griffin, was the opening act, followed by R&B singer Glenn Jones, and then the headliner……..Maze ft. Frankie Beverly.

Now, I’ve seen Frankie Beverly perform almost every year since the mid-90′s and this is the first time that I’ve been in attendance where there was a Cougar Crowd.  Older women had that joint packed!

Anyway, here are a few photos that I took at that concert.  Click photos to enlarge.

End of the Rainbow

Aug 28

Excuse me for a moment while I shed a tear.  A part of my childhood is coming to an end.  PBS is airing its last episode of Reading Rainbow on today.  After 26 years on the air, the beloved children’s learning show, hosted by LeVar Burton, will fade to black.  I don’t even know how to handle this news.  It’s like someone ripping out your soul!

Believe it or not, I grew up a very shy kid, until books were introduced to my life.  Books took me on journeys in my mind, and that led me to gain confidence in speaking to others, as well as becoming a better writer.  Reading Rainbow helped to play a huge part in that.  But……..you don’t have to take my word for it.  *weep*

Oh, What A Tangled Web We Weave

Aug 10

So over the weekend, the news media outlets reported that deceased television pitchman, Billy Mays, had cocaine in his system, as well as various prescription medications, according to the toxicology report performed after his death.  You know what?  That explains a lot.

All this time I was thinking that dude was really enthusiastic about Orange Glo and Oxy-Clean, because he was screaming at the top of his damn lungs, when all the while he was hyped up on coke.  Sham-fucking-wow!
